Overview:

Coupons can be created as variable so that the cashier is prompted for the coupon amount at the sales transaction. The variable coupon will have a pop up appear when it is used on the sales transaction screen which prompts for the coupon amount. 

How to create a variable coupon:

From CAS - Go to the master item screen CAS>Management>transaction codes>coupon

Create the coupon and in the amount box put $0.00, save

(Note: When applying a variable coupon, the amount cannot exceed $100)

Processing on POS/Tablet

From the sales transaction screen apply the variable coupon, a pop up will appear that prompts for the coupon amount.

Fun Facts:

You can also create a Variable Discount and a Variable price item when you apply it to the sale it will prompt for the discount/sales price.
