PC Charge

Overview

PC Charge is a software program that takes care of the security of credit/debit cards and checks authorization security aspects. A card processing company would check if the credit card is a valid one or not and thus would confirm or deny the order with the customer. PC Charge is a separate program from the POS and therefore needs to be installed from program files.

NOTE:  Verifone is no longer supporting PC Charge, thus we are no longer doing additional development on this product

Details

The Card Processing Company is a mandatory field that needs to match the settings in PC Charge for the processor and is provided by your Bank. Typically this will be the first four letters of your processor.

The Merchant Number is a mandatory field and is also provided by the processing company and must match the number provided to PC Charge.

The Gift Processing Company is the gift card processor name from PC Charge, typically this is a three letter acronym of the associated gift processor.

The Gift Number is the appropriate membership number given by the gift card processing company.

When Manual Entry of Card Details is on then users of the POS can hand key credit card numbers to finish a sale in the event of a demagnitized card or a phone order.

When Prevent Verification on Credit/Debit/Gift/ and or Check will allow the POS operator to complete sales to the appropriate tender without actually receiving any verification from the processing bank.

With Supported Payment Modes allow for sales to be completed by the appropriately activated tender types. If a payment mode for a particular media is not on then the POS will not allow sales to be completed to that media type.

The Install Path tells the POS where to find the installed PC Charge software. The settings listed for the install patch are the default location of a typical PC Charge install.

We support Version 5.7.1 of  the PC Charge software . For installation of PC Charge on you POS refer to the POS PC Charge Installation – Configuration Guide
