How to disable Java Update Popup from Windows

Problem

User wants to disable the java update notification pop up. User wants to stay on current version (the version that supports their POS application)

Solution

Disable the java notification pop up: 

Steps to Turn off (Disable) the java update popup.
  1. Go to Start - Control Panel
  2. Select Programs
  3. Select Java - Java Popup comes up
  4. Select Update Tab on popup
  5. Uncheck box "Check for Updates Automatically"
  6. Java Warning Box will come up
  7. Select "Do not Check" and Apply

The pop up should no longer appear
