Report: Over stock and Under Stock report

Overstock does not necessarily means a high volume level of stock or longer Anticipated Days to Sell Out Stock. Profitability, opportunity cost from possible liquidation activity should also be taken into consideration in determining if an item is over stocked or under stocked. For our purposes we have developed a calculation called Stock Index.

The user is able to run this report and select if they want to run an over stocked report or an under stocked report. The data is not subject to sales, all data in stock is analyzed.

  

Report
The search can be filtered by classification, attribute, vendor, and can be run for all or a specific venue, store or group. The items can be consolidated at a SKU, class, attribute or vendor level.

Report Output
The reports will show the below data for each consolidation level (sku, classification, attribute, brand, vendor, etc)

• Quantity on Hand
• Extended Cost: = Average cost per Unit * Quantity on Hand 
• Anticipated Gross Margin: =(Current price * Quantity on Hand-Extended Cost-historical markdowns at hierarchical (VSG level))- Extended Costs
• Anticipated Days to Sell Out Stock: =Current Stock Balance/Average Sales per Day;
Average Sales per Day = (Total Units Sold during Period/Number of Days in the Period)
• Anticipated GMROI: = Anticipated Gross Margin/ Extended Cost
• Stock Index
